Covid-19 Vaccine and Pregnancy, Fertility & Breastfeeding
The Royal College of Obstericians and Gynaecologists have developed a range of information for pregnant or breastfeeding women eligible for the vaccine. Pregnant women currently offered COVID-19 vaccination include health and social care workers and those with high risk medical conditions.
When will I receive my Covid-19 vaccine?
We are currently receiving a lot of calls and messages from patients and relatives asking when they will receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Our Primary Care Network team is working hard to deliver the vaccine as quickly as possible in order of Government recommended priority grouping (please see the link below). The vaccine is not currently being offered to anyone under the age of 16 years.
We have recently received updated and more specific guidance regarding patients with a history of allergy, therefore some patients who were originally told they could not have the vaccine may now be called and invited.
We are currently vaccinating priority group 10 with 1st dose and priority group 6 with the 2nd dose (adults age 16-65 in an at-risk group - see link below). We usually get very short notice of vaccine delivery (often only 2-3 days' notice) so we may let you know at short notice regarding an appointment. This also means that patients receiving their first vaccine will not have a choice of vaccine.
Please do not contact the surgery as this takes staff away from other critical duties and blocks the phone lines. Please be assured that as soon as we have supply of vaccine available for your priority grouping, we will be in touch to arrange an appointment for you.
Many thanks for your patience and understanding
